The Arcs just emerged with their first 14 track album titled Yours, Dreamily. The band started off as a side project for lead singer of The Black Keys, Dan Auerbach. The project quickly turned into a collaborative effort with other outstandingly talented artists recording in Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York. Auerbach noted that the project was about collaborating with his oldest and greatly valued relationships in the music industry. Richard Swift from the Shins, Leon Michels, Homer Steinweiss, Kenny Vaughn, Nick Movshon and women from Mariachi Flor De Toloache all contributed to the distinctive sound of the album.
Listening to the album you can hear the influence of the artists backgrounds on each song. The sound is similar to The Black Keys, however there is a little bit more grunge to it. The alternative album clearly melds the ideas of many artists and incorporates the styles and lyrics of all collaborative members. “Stay In My Corner” was pre-released on October 4th before the album came out and is inspired by the famous boxing match between Maywather and Pacquiao. “Outta My Mind” is a rock and roll style jam that kicks off the album by announcing over what sounds like an intercom “Good Morning children, welcome to school.” Check out Yours, Dreamily and let us know what you think!
