Shakey Graves humbly took the stage last night for his debut performance at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
“...what?... oh that was the sound of my heart exploding” captioned Shakey’s Instagram of the Red Rocks audience after he stepped off stage.
Preceding two of Colorado’s favorite folk-rock jam bands, Elephant Revival and Trampled By Turtles, Shakey managed to hook the audience at an entirely different level of energy, rawness, and pure mastery of musicianship.
Shakey stepped on stage as a solo performer, and yet his sound captured the fullness of an entire band.
Rarely does a Red Rocks opener performing in the daylight entice the entire amphitheater to fill up, but clearly no one wanted to miss this performance.
Red Rocks loved Shakey. He truly could have headlined the show.
Luckily, Shakey Graves will be headlining two nights at the Ogden Theater in Denver just less than two months away.. and after the performance he put on last night, these tickets are bound to sell out soon.
