At just 20 years old, Noah Kahan has penned a record deal with Republic Records and taken the road with one of the world’s biggest alt groups, Milky Chance. His first official single of the year, “Young Blood” has already gained 1,500,000+ Spotify streams.
Noah’s talents for honest songwriting and powerful vocals could likely propel him as the next big contemporary folk act of 2017. Don’t miss your chance to catch one of his first shows on tour opening for Milky Chance at the Bluebird Theater in Denver this Monday, March 13th.
What inspired you to write your single "Young Blood"?
Young Blood came from a long stagnant period in my life and in my career and is an attempt to figure out the world I live in
What's it like watching the song gain so much traction?
It's been an unreal experience watching people connect so much with the song, numbers dont mean as much to me as when someone tells me it helps them through something rough
How does it feel to be on tour with Milky Chance?
It's been unbelievable, I am a huge fan of their music so it's been awesome to be on the same ticket
Who are some of your biggest musical inspirations?
I am hugely inspired by honest songwriting that can be found in contemporary folk and older songwriting. Artists like Ben Howard, Hozier, Sufjan Stevens and Paul Simon are hugely influential in the way I see songwriting
What are your goals for the year ahead?
Releasing more music, buying a really big shirt that I can wear when I don't want to put pants on
