Tour Preview By: Madi Heath
As Joywave kicks off their headlining tour, they recently announced they are joining Thirty Seconds to Mars this summer along with Walk the Moon and Misterwives. In the past year, they released their new album, “Content.” The band’s frontman Daniel Armbruster says about this dual-meaning word, “I loved that the two words were associated with completely opposite feelings for me (one pure, one not) and that only a human hearing the two words in the English language could tell the difference between the ideas represented. To a search engine, they are identical. How can you explain to Google that one of these things makes you happy and helps fill the void in your soul, and the other is just flooding your senses?” This album features popular alternative hits such as “Doubt” and “It’s a Trip!” The official music video for Doubt, directed by the widely renowned Olivier Gondry was just released, already receiving hundreds of thousands of views on VEVO and YouTube.
With over half of their shows sold out, Joywave’s “Thanks. Thanks for Coming 2018” Tour will be one to catch, hitting cities like Hollywood, San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, Denver, Washington D.C., etc. and finishing the cross-country road trip with Buffalo, New York, which is close to their home of Rochester. As Joywave heads to cities near you, be sure to find tickets fast. Their energetic stage presence, as seen on their live performance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, is sure to carry over to each show. This crowd seemed enthralled with the happenings of their performance on the show and swept with applause afterward. Their artistic style is sure to be a hit for anyone who gets the chance to see them. Armbruster brings forth a furiously fun array of visuals and an imaginative aesthetic that stands out amongst all else.
